Physical Therapy
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available to assist elders of the HealthCare Center and outpatients from local communities in regaining and restoring abilities.
Physical therapy includes treatment for injuries from falls and illnesses that
respond to rehabilitation. Physical therapy works to regain strength and balance
to allow
clients to walk
and move as independently as possible. Physical therapy is also useful for pain management.
Occupational therapy focuses on improving abilities to manage daily living skills. Programs are developed individually to maximize abilities to relearn basic living skills such as eating, dressing, and bathing.
Speech therapy assists in overcoming problems with speech, hearing, comprehension, and swallowing. Special communication systems are often developed to ensure the individual can make his or her needs known.
